Jo-i’arib (whom Jehovah defends).

1. A layman who returned from Babylon with Ezra. Ezra 8:16. (b.c. 459.)

2. The founder of one of the courses of priests, elsewhere called in full Jehoiarib. Neh. 12:6, 19.

3. A Shilonite—i.e., probably a descendant of Shelah the son of Judah. Neh. 11:5. (b.c. before 536.)
