Zimmah
Zim’mah (purpose).
1. A Gershonite Levite, son of Jahath. 1 Chron. 6:20. (b.c. after 1706.)
2. Another Gershonite, son of Shimei, 1 Chron. 6:42; possibly the same as the preceding.
3. Father or ancestor of Joah, a Gershonite in the reign of Hezekiah. 2 Chron. 29:12. (b.c. before 726.) At a much earlier period we find the same collocation of names, Zimmah and Joah as father and son. 1 Chron. 6:20.
